Brood Stock Lakes Program
2026 Summary p. 15
The rule (2026 Fishing Summary, p. 15)
From April 1 through May 31, Muskellunge, Tiger Muskellunge, Northern Pike and pickerel are catch and release only; none may be kept. Other species follow Commonwealth inland waters rules.
What it's for
The Summary says these rules restrict harvest and fish consumption during an FDA-mandated withdrawal period, because fish anesthetics are used in musky, pike and pickerel culture operations.
